Although they never got married, the break between the actress and director Olivia Wilde and the actor Jason Sudeikis has starred, since it became official at the end of 2020, the covers of the gossip press internationally. They have never spoken publicly about the family situation nor have they given exclusives on the subject, but this week everything has exploded into the air. One of the ex-nannies of the couple’s children has spoken in the British newspaper Daily Mail about their breakup and, for the first time in a long time, the couple of actors has agreed and has joined forces to deny the information that has poured on them.
“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that one of our two children’s former nannies has made such false and defamatory accusations about us,” the former couple said in a statement sent to the US press. “Your 18-month campaign of harassment against us, as well as our loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has come to an end,” the message continues, “we will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children in the sincere hope that now choose to leave our family alone.”
The identity of the nanny of Sudeikis and Wilde’s two children, eight-year-old Otis and five-year-old Daisy, is unknown, but it is clear that she is very close to the family. Because she has recounted in the first person how she experienced the breakup and how the actor found out about the relationship that his then still partner had with the singer Harry Styles. In the interview he explained that Sudeikis was shocked and “heartbroken” by Wilde’s new relationship, and that there were “a lot of tears” after learning of the affair.
Styles and Wilde met on the set of Don’t worry, my dear, a film directed by the actress and starring the singer. Although some media pointed out that the relationship between the two began while Wilde was still with Sudeikis, it was the interpreter herself who denied this information in Vanity Fair magazine: “It ended long before I met Harry.” However, the nanny has claimed that the Ted Lasso star discovered the infidelity thanks to an Apple Watch that contained old messages between them.

“Monday morning [November 9, 2020], when I came back from my weekend off, [Jason Sudeikis] was crying a lot. He didn’t know what had happened. He was a mess and was screaming: ‘[Olivia] she has left us,’ the nanny told the Daily Mail. In addition, she has said that Sudeikis was so nervous that he threw himself on top of Wilde’s car to prevent him from going to see Styles. After that, and always according to the former employee’s version, the actor forbade them to listen to music by the former One Direction member at his house. “I feel so sorry for Jason, because he really wanted things to work out. He dropped everything to go to therapy and try again, but it didn’t work,” the nanny explained.
Since the breakup became known, both Sudeikis and Wilde have repeatedly argued that their split has always been amicable. But after the numerous controversies that have surrounded the ex-partner since that moment, it has been shown that the breakup has not been exactly happy. Just six months ago they starred in one of the most notorious scandals of the season. Wilde was getting on stage at Caesars Palace’s in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) to present Don’t worry, darling when a woman approached the stage. At first, it was thought that it was all part of the script, as the stranger handed him a sealed envelope, Wilde gave it a quick look and continued, unperturbed, with the presentation. However, the specialized movie portal Deadline reported hours later what it contained:
Although the interpreter denied being aware of when and how these papers were going to be delivered, the controversy was already served. And there the distance between them became seemingly insurmountable. However now, almost two years after the breakup, it seems that the bridges of a relationship that, until now, seemed completely broken have been rebuilt.
